One of my favorite Artist is Robert Mangold
This being my first class of art history, I am not knowledgeable on artists to have a favorite. From the artists that we have discussed in class I liked Donatello.
Something I found interesting in the reading is the way Donatello treats the human body as an articulated structure. Also, how he puts an emphasis on the naturalistic form.
My Favorite artist is Michael W.Smith, he is a singer, which is art too. If I have to choose from one of the old and dead people, I would not knwo who to choose. What I liked about most of the old oil paintings. for me it doesnt matter who painted it, but whats in it. Like face expresions, or the story behind the picture, like why did the artist paint it. And it is interesting to see that at the time of the renaissance most pictures are about bible stories. So that I like.
One of my favorite artists is Salvador Dali.
Something I found interesting in the reading was the fact that each artist depicted certain myths, or religious themes in a different way than the last. It it as if they are saying something very personal about a universal theme or idea.
Dali has to be my favorite artist because of his use of the imagination. He is very good at showing his imaginary skills and stretching the limits of art.
I found it interesting that many artists did paintings, sculptures, and architecture.
One of my favorite artist is Michael Angelo.
I would have to say that from what artist that I have read about so far, my favorite is Filippo Brunelleschi. I think that he has created very beautiful works, such as the Dome of the Florence Cathederal, and Ospedale delgi Innocenti. One of my favorites would be the Pazzi Chapel. Its interior structure is so elegant, and calm feeling and the colors he uses in the chapel are very beautiful.
My favorite current artist is Tiffany Beasi. She has a fantastic one called The Shreik. Of the famous masters, I like Caravaggio & Dali. Caravaggio paints his scenes as if they were snapshots & draws you in with the characters. Dali is just so fun, and everytime you look at the same piece of work, you can find something new hidden.
Of the reading, I like how the book goes into detail about the sponsorships of the guilds.
My favirite artist would have to be Brunelleschi, because of the beautifull architectural structures that he desing and my favorite has to be the Dome of the Florence Cathedral.
My favorate artist is Diego Rivera, because many of his painting's reflected many real life military struggles. I find it interesting that, Rivera himself was also a caricature of his own art,as he would later become one of those revoluationary's that he had earlier in his career, depicted in his art.
I do not have a "favorite" artist. I have an eccletic taste. If something catches my eye I like it no matter who painted it.
I am amazed at the technology it took to build these magnificent building.
